Ross F Goldberg, MD, FACS

Dr. Goldberg is the Vice-Chairman of Surgery/Chief, Division of General Surgery at Maricopa Medical Center. He also serves as the Specialty Ambulatory Medical Director for Maricopa Integrated Health System, Director of Minimally Invasive and Hepatic Surgery and Director of the Robotic Surgery Program and is a 2017 Top Doctor Award Recipient. His interests include minimally invasive surgery/robotic surgery, foregut diseases and oncology, hepatobiliary disorders and oncology, colorectal disorders and oncology and endoscopy.

Outside of the operating room, he is active in multiple county, state and national medical and surgical societies with a focus on health policy and advocacy. He is a strong believer in that a surgeon needs to be a patient advocate both inside and outside of the hospital.

On the local and state level, he is the Vice-President for the Arizona Medical Association (ArMA) and serves on their Legislative & Governmental Affairs Committee and their political action committee Board of Directors (ArMPAC), the Immediate Past President of the Maricopa County Medical Society (MCMS), and the Immediate Past President for the Arizona Chapter of the American College of Surgeons (AzACS).

On the national level, he is the Chair of the American College of Surgeons Health Policy & Advisory Committee (HPAC) while also being a member of the ACS Health Policy Advocacy Group (HPAG) and ACS Legislative Committee and serving as one of Arizona’s Governors-at-Large on the ACS Board of Governors. He also is Chair of the Advocacy and Health Policy Committee for SAGES (Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons) as well as a member of the SAGES Board of Governors and was recently awarded the 2019 SAGES Foundation Excellence in Medical Leadership Award.
