Leaders of Creighton University Health Sciences – Phoenix Campus received a virtual tour inside the new $100 million, 183,000-square foot campus under construction in midtown Phoenix.
Led by Okland Construction Project Manager Carlos Gonzalez, the tour gave viewers a first-hand look at how each floor of the seven-story campus is taking shape. Okland Construction is the general contractor for the first phase of the project.
Among the highlights was a first-floor community events center and outdoor courtyard, second floor chapel, bookstore, fitness center, cafe and terrace, as well as active learning spaces. The third-floor features student group rooms, simulation exam rooms, pre-briefing rooms and nurse’s station. The fourth floor will contain pharmaceutical simulation rooms, task training spaces and simulation rooms with an observation corridor as well as two trauma simulation rooms.
The fifth floor includes a 40-seat interactive classroom, home care lab, skills lab, rehab classrooms and lab and an anatomy lab.
The construction phase of the project, which is on time and under budget, is slated to be completed in spring 2021, with the first class of students starting in fall 2021.
The Phoenix campus will serve eventually nearly 900 students. It includes a four-year medical school, a graduate nursing program, a pharmacy program, a physician assistant program and physical and occupational therapy programs.
